Mobile Internet in Galicia: Roaming, SIMs & eSIMs
Mobile data helps with navigation, reservations and checking opening hours while travelling around Galicia. Before buying a travel eSIM, check whether your existing phone plan already covers Spain.
EU and EEA roaming
Visitors with eligible EU or EEA mobile plans can generally use their domestic allowance in Spain under the EU “Roam Like at Home” rules, subject to fair-use conditions. Check your provider’s terms and any data limits.
When an eSIM may help
An eSIM can be useful for travellers from outside the EU/EEA or anyone whose existing plan has expensive roaming charges. Make sure your phone supports eSIMs and is unlocked before buying.
What to compare
Look at data allowance, validity, coverage, hotspot rules, activation instructions and whether the package includes calls or is data-only. Check the provider’s current terms.
Coverage in rural Galicia
Signal quality varies by operator and location. Download offline maps before visiting remote beaches, mountain areas or narrow valleys.
Airalo offers prepaid eSIM data plans that may be useful if your regular mobile plan does not cover Spain affordably. Compare coverage, data allowance and current terms before purchasing.
